Screesnhots from www.spamhaus.org/statistics/tlds/ of ".space" and ".com"
statistics

Tl;dr - .space is less spammy than .com, yet SpamAssassin penalizes ".space"
and not ".com"

I want to immediately clarify that I have searched for existing bug reports on
this topic, but this bug report is distinct from the ones I have seen thus far.
For example, Bug 7915 - TLD Discrimination takes issue with the very idea of
penalizing domains for their TLD, whereas this bug is only addressing
inconsistencies in the application of those penalties.

************************

Extra Background (Skip if not relevant): I have a startup company in space
technology, and when I was setting up the company last year, I decided to buy a
".space" domain because it would be more memorable and it relates to my
industry. I bought my domain through NameCheap on the recommendation of a
trusted friend, and set up my email using Zoho mail. Ever since, I have been
having a problem where certain contacts won't receive my emails. Instead, the
email seems to end up in their "junk" folder, with no error or warning to me:
no bounce message, nothing. I will note, for completeness, that most of these
contacts use Microsoft Outlook, managed by a large company, school, or other
organization. I have raised the issue with Microsoft support, who said they
found no reason my emails should be undeliverable. I have also raised the
issue with NameCheap and Zoho support, but they could not find an issue, and
specifically noted that my SPF, DKIM, and DMARC seemed to be valid. I am not
on any blacklists as an individual or company, although I will note that all
NameCheap domains appear to be on a SP-level list, UCEPROTECT_LVL3

************************

Why I'm here: The only lead I have right now is that a few of those
email-checkers mentioned NTLDs can be a problem, which I was unaware of when I
bought my domain. Specifically, www.mail-tester.com ran an email through
SpamAssassin and reported that I was penalized:

.499 points for "FROM_SUSPICIOUS_NTLD"

.001 points for "FROM_SUSPICIOUS_NTLD_FP"

1.725 points for "PDS_OTHER_BAD_TLD"

My domain, in case you skipped the background, is a ".space". However,
Spamhaus reports that the ".space" tld is currently only 3.3% bad, less than
".com" which is 4.2% bad. Please consider removing ".space" from the lists of
suspicious/bad TLDs
