Examples of spam with lines that exceed the limit!
I want a rule to detect and assign a spam score when a message contains a line
that exceeds the RFC SMTP line length limit of 998 characters.
As background, here's the reason why I think it will detect spam:
I run an Exim anti-spam "gateway" server that has failed to relay these
messages, recording an error of "message has lines too long for transport" and
filling the spool with backscatter bounce messages for these failures. Upon
inspection, as you can see from the attached image, the vast majority of the
"failed to forward" messages are actually spam!
(Additional background: The transports in recent Exim versions default to
message_linelength_limit = 968 but can be configured to a higher limit.)
