Would we be interested in having a public chat room? Gitter <http://gitter.im> offers them for free for open source projects. It's like web-based IRC.
Check out the Docker room for example: https://gitter.im/docker/docker And if people prefer to use actual IRC, Gitter offers a bridge for that <https://irc.gitter.im/> to their service. All we need is someone who's a member of the Apache GitHub group to create a room for us. It should show up under https://gitter.im/apache/spark when it's ready. What do y'all think? Nick
