Great find here! Thanks very much for submitting this patch. I just had a
suggestion regarding the style of your check. It might be neat if we could add
a test to ExternalAppendOnlyMapSuite. It may be easy to do since Int's hash
function is simply the value itself, so inserting a key of Int.MaxValue should
produce this case.
