I haven't seen anything like this recently. But if anything, the bug is most likely to be in the Scala plugin (or Scala itself [wink,wink]) than in the core IDEA which has proven over the years to be incredibly stable.
If you continue seeing this, consider getting in touch with IntelliJ dev forum that has a very short turn-around time.
