Jarek Jarcec Cecho commented on SQOOP-1294:
-------------------------------------------
But what if the white space characters are valid part of the password? Should
we include an ability to read the password unchanged?
> Newline or EOL character detected by --password-file parameter

> When importing using the --password-file parameter, I've found that if I
> create the file with the command 'vi filename', enter insert mode, type the
> password, write, and quit, the password is not recognized. Single- and
> double-quotes do not fix it. I've found that by running the command 'echo -n
> password > filename' the password will be recognized. It seems that the
> newline or EOL character is being read as part of the password. This has
> occurred with the MySQL connector and the MSSQLjdbc4 connector.
