@Renkai ignoreZkOffsets is rename of forcefromStart. So if you set
ignoreZkOffsets it wil ignore already set offsets in zookeeper and start from
the startOffsetTime.
"How do spout detect it is first started or recover from failure?"
can you explain bit more on that.
