    We shouldn't make the change only available for 1.x, especially this is 
only effective when ecosystem (I mean metrics consumer implementators) should 
follow up. If we renew metrics feature to JStorm thing we might even don't have 
a chance to deprecate interfaces before removing them for 2.0.
    As I stated to wiki page, what we need to change is metrics feature itself.
    Let's wait for phase 2 to have a chance to renew, or someone claims this 
should be merged in 1.x branch.
