    The consumer is not a mock in that test. It's a spy wrapping a real 
consumer (essentially a mock object that just tracks which methods were called 
on it, while passing the calls on to the real object). The reason you need the 
doNothing here is because deactivate closes the consumer. When you reactivate 
the spout, your mock KafkaConsumerFactory returns the same consumer as before, 
which is now closed. The test I linked makes sure to return a fresh consumer on 
the second call to the factory, so the reactivation happens with the new 
consumer.
