What is it that cygwin does for you, Dave? I know the shell commands, etc., so that is not an issue. I just don't know quite what is the point of using a Linux emulator. I do have a Linux box that I keep up with, except it is not networked. I generally use BASH and VIM. Anyway, could you tell me why cygwin is so important to you? What does it do for you that you find so indispensible. That probably sounds like and probably is a stupid question. But, heh, it is my question so I have to ask it. LOL ///;-)
