Not to be rude, but guess what, not every struts application runs on the internet for absolutely anyone to use. You might despise something, but you still might be forced to use it. I do not seem to understand the reluctance to provide a generic support for struts. You stand on your soap box and tell me how it should be, and I tell you what reality is where I work. This is work, internal users only use this, the company, General Electric, specifies what we are using. I can go and ask them nicely to stop using that bad and evil IE, but don't hold your breath on that.
Now JSF might be a better route for us to go, and I am going to investigate this. Just get off your high horse. In a perfect world, where everyone was using FireFox, we could yell STANDARDS and people would listen. Guess what? It is not a perfect world. I am working with what I was handed. I don't use IE and I despise websites that use IE specific tags so I can't use the site/app. properly. We've always done our best with Struts to produce valid markup according to the HTML and XHTML standards. IMO, anything outside of a standard is outside of Struts' scope.
