Something to consider is that we are not constrained to a single line of development. We could proceed with Struts Shale as a subproject [org.apache.struts.shale], and see how it goes. If there's a way to bridge the gap between Struts 1.x and Shale, I'm sure someone will rush in to make it so. Meanwhile, people who are happy with Struts 1.x can continue evolving the tried-and-true codebase. Shale does seems like a fine idea for a JSF framework, but it really doesn't have a "Struts 2.x" feel. In fact, calling it Struts 2.x might cause a lot of confusion, unless there is a very clear migration path. But, that doesn't mean we can't host Struts Shale alongside Struts 1.x. We might also ask if our friends at Apache MyFaces would be interested in helping with Apache Shale, or even hosting the development. If this is going to be a JSF gizmo, and we are short of JSF developers here, perhaps Shale should live where more JSF developers hang out. Of course, if MyFaces doesn't want to get into the framework business, we can host it here, and perhaps some MyFaces developers will join us here. -Ted. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
