I know that using the ant-dependencies plugin to download from the Maven repo (how's that for irony?!?) I sometimes see the same thing: a number of dependencies work, then one fails for no apparent reason, and then if I just re-run the script again, or sometimes twice more, that failed dependency magically works. I always just assumed it was the plug-in, but I don't know... I wouldn't be surprised if the same sometimes happened with Maven itself.

Not sure when you tried this Martin, but I saw that iBiblio was
unreachable yesterday... even just browsing the Maven repo via web
browser didn't work. This was in the afternoon for me (EST). Maybe
that's what bit you?

It was just this afternoon. What was weird was that it was the first time
I'd run Maven on that box, and it downloaded tons of other stuff from
ibiblio before failing on that one. Given all the successes, I didn't think
about ibiblio having suddenly gone wonky.
