Some time ago we were wondering what's the use of "beanName" and
"beanScope" attributes in <tiles:put> tag. The answer came from

Yep I was watching that thread. If you've followed the commit
messages I completely removed those attributes from the TLD. It
wouldn't be too difficult to add them back if we need to.
1) Both of those users need "beanName" and "beanScope" implemented
in tiles-defs.xml, because they seem to be not implemented
according to the DTD. But in Cedric Dumoulin's site:
http://www2.lifl.fr/~dumoulin/tiles/
it says:
Now, are these attributes implemented or not?
They are not available in the DTD right now. I'm not sure what the
history is. Maybe they were there and got removed. I'm not sure.
2) If it should be implemented, is it best to create an issue to
Standalone Tiles or Struts-Tiles?
Hmmm. That I don't know. File it in Struts-Tiles for now. It will
probably apply to both.

Well, if Babel Fish got it right, congratulations! I tuned in right
before Zidane got the card. I hated that it had to end in PKs but oh
well....
