Greetings --

Do you guys think it would be useful to provide an Eclipse workspace for
those who would like to easily see what Struts2 is all about?

I believe Maven will build an Eclipse setup using the plugin.

$ mvn eclipse:eclipse

I know this works well with IDEA, and it resolves the local references to JARs.

I'd be happy to provide mine.

You could also attach something like that to a page in the wiki.

Also, has anyone been assigned the task to work on book?

Right now, our focus is on maintaining the technical documentation,
which is online.

It's been my experience that project documentation in a book format
can be hard to maintain over time. But, if anyone wanted to start a
book as a group project, the place to get started would be the wiki.

A well reasoned roadmap will be essential and I would be interested
in helping with effort.

If "well reasoned" means "step by step", that hasn't worked well for
us in the past.. Volunteers tend to work on what is of interest at the
moment, which may or may not be the next item on the roadmap.

Right now, we discuss future development on the dev list, reduce
action items to JIRA tickets, and use the tickets to spitball the next
iteration. It hasn't been practical for us to do much planning beyond
the next iteration. So, everything on the JIRA roadmap is either
"next" and "future".

All the discussions do happen on the dev list, and if someone wanted
to follow along and try and reduce those discussion to a roadmap,
again, it's something that could be posted to the wiki.
