There are three symlinks (svnpubsub, svnwcsub and nominate.pl).

Silently removing them doesn't seem like the ideal solution. IMO it would create more confusion than it solves.

IMO, things that don't belong in a tarball don't belong in trunk. So, maybe the whole of tools/dist should be moved up a level out of trunk. But that doesn't help svnpubsub.
