I noticed that Google has released and opened sourced the Go language (http://golang.org). I watched the tech talk by Rob Pike and it seems interesting, although it didn't answer all questions. Go seems to be based on C, Python, Ada, Pascal/Modula/Oberon languages.
Though it would be interesting as there are some Plan 9 people here :-)
