Ignoring the trolls posting here - the solution is obvious. Use a different terminal or apply the patch if it means that much to you. st won't get transparency (most likely), and transset is a poor solution anyway, as it makes both the text and the window background equally transparent. Use one of the aforementioned terminals and you'll get everything you want, from what I can tell.
