The resizehints thing is afaict a global setting in config.h and you should set it if you want your terminals fitting into the gap in which they are placed. Resizing terminals is usually done by taking a multiple of the font with plus maybe a border, which may not be an amount with which your monitor width is dividable by. cheers! mar77i
