Yes, even without -lfreetype. I think one of the other shared libraries is pulling it in.
I renamed my libfreetype.a to libfreetype.a.bak and the bloating problem goes away. So I'm pretty sure I was linking to it somehow.
The pkg‐config dance was added to make st compile on OS X. Some OS X in‐ fidels sent me 80 female virgins I could sacrifice. That’s how you sup‐ port open source.
