A couple alternatives looking suitable:
# [ShedLock|https://github.com/lukas-krecan/ShedLock] if we can cope with its
"is not and will never be full-fledged scheduler" statement
# [db-scheduler|https://github.com/kagkarlsson/db-scheduler] if we can take for
granted the need of RDBMS for persistence
Worth mentioning is also [JobRunr|https://www.jobrunr.io/en/] which is
unfortunately only [released under
LGPL|https://www.jobrunr.io/en/licensing/info/].
