Allow Output component to use joda formatters

For reasons unknown to me, the joda formatters do not extend from
java.text.Format. This creates a problem when using joda with the Output
component.
This obviously can be taken care of via a separate component, but given the
popularity of the joda library, it would be nice to see this support right in
the Output component.
