Dojo guys have deprecated json commenting as it can 'introduce a security hole 
when none existed before'...  They propose a server-only 
approach that simply adds {}&& at the start of all generated json - the benefit 
being that it can be evaluated the same was as a normal
json is and produces the exact result.
