Francois, I had originally started with the full "mvn archetype:generate" project (which included AppModule.java), but removed a lot of it over time while trying to debug this problem. I just now started over from scratch, rebuilding the tutorial1 project....but was met with the exact same behavior.
As soon as the "availableModels" is instantiated, the onValueChanged method never returns. It's quite odd. As an aside, I didn't mean to post this thread to "Tapestry - Dev". It was obviously intended for "Tapestry - User".
