1) no, but when I apply the first patch files are placed incorrectly. Maybe it
is just a missing slash in the patch file. Correct is /lib/go/thrift
2) Thrift allows for nearly any combination of protocol and transport. This
function tests the protocol passed in against various transports, these are
hardcoded there.
