it's true - there is no TSocket implementation in 0.9.1 tarball. as i
understand all the commits in 0.9.1 are earlier then august 2013 ? is this
supposed to be so?

checkout thrift master branch from [github|https://github.com/apache/thrift] or
apache git://git.apache.org/thrift.git . there you can find lacking
implementation of
[TSocket|https://github.com/apache/thrift/blob/master/lib/as3/src/org/apache/thrift/transport/TSocket.as].
also you can download it directly, it should work.
