I am presently completing the Manning Book, The Programmer's Guide to Apache Thrift (http://www.manning.com/abernethy/). Chapter 1 (a good overview) is free to download and the entire Part II, which documents all of the thrift architecture, is complete. If you would like to give away some copies of the ebook I think I can arrange that.
