In what I could observe of the code, the payload is only used to specify the 
type of SASL auth being performed, such as PLAIN or GSSAPI, etc.. The 100 MB is 
overkill but I kept that as it was still tolerable by most JVM.

Is that payload length really used for any other purpose (except being 0 during 
error responses)?
