Qiao, could you please try this patch on your system? It doesn't change 
exception handling (except logging), main thing it does is closing connection 
on errors.

For me reliable way to reproduce FD leak was to attach strace to a running 
process (strace -p <PID>), makes process consistently leaking descriptors even 
under light load.
