Aki Sukegawa commented on THRIFT-3418: -------------------------------------- I think it is reasonable to drop 2.6 at this time and it is basically in line with Python 2.4,2.5/CentOS 5 drop (THRIFT-1604). But 2.6 incompatibilities are fairly minor and we may want to keep it for one more release. That way we have a version that supports 2.6/2.7/3.x at once. Also it seems 0.9.2 and 0.9.3 had something incompatible with some projects including another Apache project (THRIFT-3388) Going back to 0.9.1 for Python 2.6 might be disappointing for those affected. > Use of ciphers in ssl.wrap_socket() breaks python 2.6 compatibility > ------------------------------------------------------------------- > > Key: THRIFT-3418 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/THRIFT-3418 > Project: Thrift > Issue Type: Bug > Components: Python - Library > Affects Versions: 0.9.3 > Reporter: Uri Laserson > > THRIFT-2846 makes use of the ciphers parameter to ssl.wrap_socket(), which > was only added in Python 2.7. -- This message was sent by Atlassian JIRA (v6.3.4#6332)
