We allow builds without openssl.  The build system will omit the ssl based 
source code from the build so you can build a non-ssl thrift library.  We 
should follow the same.  We should also have a Travis CI build job that tries 
to build thrift without openssl, without libevent, without zlib to make sure 
this doesn't happen again... I'll add a ticket.
