Mario Emmenlauer commented on THRIFT-2426: ------------------------------------------ Dear [~codesf] thanks a lot, _now_ I see the problem. I was looking only on the fbthrift side of things but now I realize that Apache also has a hurdle to ingest the code. For (2) I have kindly asked for IP clearance in [https://github.com/facebook/fbthrift/issues/309] but I understand this may not be easy to get. Still I think its relevant to keep trying. For (1) the main hurdle may be that I am not knowledgeable to compile a useful patch. I can see certain relevant features that seem attractive, but the fbthrift code has deviated quite a bit so I'm unsure which parts are relevant and which aren't. Or would it make sense to just diff the current head revisions and get that approved as a patch, so that you can take out the relevant parts yourself? > clarify IP rights and contributions from fbthrift > -------------------------------------------------- > > Key: THRIFT-2426 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/THRIFT-2426 > Project: Thrift > Issue Type: Story > Components: Documentation > Reporter: Roger Meier > Assignee: James E.
