Hi,

there are in total 4 different projects pushing under apache/xxx, where thrift is just one of them. Some of them (e.g. apache/usergrid) seeem even not related to the ASF (which raises interesting questions).

https://packagist.org/packages/apache/

When I test it myself using your supplied URL, I get this

    Submit package
    Repository URL (Git/Svn/Hg)
    https://github.com/apache/avro

Notice: One or more similarly named packages have already been submitted to Packagist.

If this is a fork read the notice above regarding VCS Repositories.

    Similarly named packages:
    dealroom/avro
    iventuregroup/avro
    jaumo/avro
    mawdoo3mediawiki/avro
    userqq/avro
    And 1 more

The package name found for your repository is: apache/avro, press Submit to confirm.

Note it says "press Submit to confirm". Did you try that?

Best regards,

JensG

Hello Thrift team,

I am a member of the Apache Avro team.
We would like to publish packages at https://packagist.org/packages/submit
for our PHP SDK.

Checking https://github.com/apache/avro gives the following error:
===============================================

The vendor name "apache" was already claimed by someone else on
Packagist.org. You may ask them to add your package and give you
maintainership access. If they add you as a maintainer on any package in
that vendor namespace, you will then be able to add new packages in
that namespace. The packages already in that vendor namespace can be
found at apache. If those packages belong to you but were submitted by
someone else, you can contact us to resolve the issue.

===============================================

ASF Infra team said that they do not manage it (
https://the-asf.slack.com/archives/CBX4TSBQ8/p1722508157552559).

https://packagist.org/packages/apache/ shows that Thrift and UserGrid team
members have
permissions to publish under the "apache/" namespace.

Could someone add me (mgrigorov) to the respected Packagist team/namespace ?

Thank you!

Martin
