We have utility functions to do this currently with `clock()` and get some 
timing information with {{profile()}} on individual traversals. I tend to feel 
like that's enough for what the console tries to be as a tool. 

from an implementation perspective, it's not really clear how to make this 
happen nicely. it's almost best handled as an issue with groovy in some sense. 

anyway, just thought i'd comment on this one to see if there's any interest in 
this idea still.
