Hello,

As you may or may not know, a decision was reached a couple of weeks ago by
the ASF Board of Directors to remove Marko Rodriguez from TinkerPop's
Project Management Committee (PMC). For those who do not know, the PMC is
responsible for the management and oversight of an Apache project and while
his removal from that committee does not prevent him from contributing to
TinkerPop (he is still an official Committer), he can no longer be
officially involved in PMC duties[1].

So, why so late in this announcement? Well, that falls on my shoulders.
What do you do when you have a new PMC member or committer? it's easy. You
celebrate with an announcement and a funny picture of Gremlin. But, what do
you do when a Founder/PMC member is removed? It's certainly not celebratory
and not something there is much precedence for. The difficulties of this
event combined with other stresses in my private life didn't allow me to
see that the community needed at least some basic statement on this change.
I should have done this earlier and for that I apologize to our community
and to Marko.

Thank you,

Stephen
