Hi all,

I noticed that overtime old branches tend to build up in the repository,
and currently we have to manually delete them after merging. I think it
will be helpful to set-up automatic branch deletion after merging
<https://docs.github.com/en/repositories/configuring-branches-and-merges-in-your-repository/configuring-pull-request-merges/managing-the-automatic-deletion-of-branches>
on GitHub. The deleted branch can always be restored after automatic
deletion.

The ASF policy <https://infra.apache.org/project-repo-policy.html> does
allow this feature, and we just have to open a ticket to request it. Just
wondering if anyone would have any concerns around this?

Cheers,

Yang
