Hi Ryan,

I agree that the addition of these example applications makes the current
archetypes redundant. I also agree with Florian’s comment on your PR regarding
the .NET templates also becoming redundant due to these changes. I am in favour
of removing all the archetypes and templates from the repo once all questions
around the new examples are addressed and they are accepted into the project.

Regards,

Cole

Subject: [DISCUSS] Removal of gremlin-archetypes with the addition of GLV
examples
Hi everyone,

I've been working on TINKERPOP-2995
<https://issues.apache.org/jira/projects/TINKERPOP/issues/TINKERPOP-2995> which
introduces sample applications for GLVs, each containing examples for
connecting, basic Gremlin, and simple traversals, and it seems that
gremlin-archetypes has been made redundant as a result.

While these new examples do not extensively cover all the same areas as
gremlin-archetypes, I believe they fill a similar niche as an introduction
to the project and are more intuitive to find for newer users of Gremlin.
Therefore, removing it may be beneficial in alleviating some of the burden
of maintainability as it has had issues in the past and occasionally causes
actions to fail for unrelated items.

Does anyone have any thoughts or concerns regarding this matter?

Thanks,

Ryan Tan
