Hi all, Please see the January quarterly report draft below, and me know if there is anything missing or needs update.
————————————————————— ## Description: Apache TinkerPop is a graph computing framework for both graph databases (OLTP) and graph analytic systems (OLAP). ## Project Status: The project is ongoing with moderate activities this past quarter. ## Issues: There are no issues requiring board attention. ## Membership Data: Community changes, past quarter: - No new PMC members. Last addition was Yang Xia on 2023-03-15. - Norio Akagi was added as committer on 2024-10-31 ## Project Activity: We released 3.6.8 and 3.7.3 on 2024-10-23, which contained a number of security updates, bug fixes in the core functionality, as well as updates to improve implementation extensibility for providers. This was also the last release of the 3.6.x line [1], as future development will be focused on new features for TinkerPop 4.0 and maintenance for 3.7.x. The community continues to be active in development for the next major release of TinkerPop 4.0, aimed at increasing maintainability, usability, extensibility, and security of the project. Implementation of the Gremlin Server, as well as the Java and Python drivers has been wrapping up as the community prepares for a milestone preview of TinkerPop 4.0.0, for early user preview, testing and feedback on the current implementation. Out of abundance of caution, the milestone release was held off for additional testing, with new dates in discussion [2]. ### Releases: 3.6.8 was released on 2024-10-23. 3.7.3 was released on 2024-10-23. ## Community Health: The TinkerPop Community continues to have a steady flow of activity from core committers, and occasional contributions from outside sources are in line with previous quarters. Several TinkerPop providers have also released new updates. G.V(), an all-in-one client for Gremlin graph database recently released 3.9.32 [3], offering new free-tier access and improved result visualization. Gremify [4], a cloud-based platform providing Gremlin query execution and visualization for Gremlin users of all levels, recently released support for TinkerPop 3.7.3. We hosted another exciting live event on Twitch [5], where we invited an external contributor to discuss his work on a GQL to Gremlin transpiler, a prototype optimizer and discuss how the GQL standard [6] could help further develop TinkerPop. All the recordings are available on our YouTube channel [7]: * TinkerPop Wide: GQL to Gremlin [8] Presenter: William Saffery ## Report Links [1]: https://lists.apache.org/thread/ysc1ov4l3x3v3nyjr3b7z05tml7s7o46 [2]: https://lists.apache.org/thread/hh58k28qy49lb9k7b9j4mnqvpxj0xf85 [3]: https://gdotv.com/blog/g-v-3-9-32-release-notes/ [4]: https://gremlify.com/ [5]: https://www.twitch.tv/apachetinkerpop [6]: https://www.gqlstandards.org/ [7]: https://www.youtube.com/@apachetinkerpop [8]: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kd0i-ieni6M
