Hi everyone,

I wanted to officially start release discussions for 3.7.4. I have been holding
off on this discussion
with the intention of proposing a joint 3.7.4/3.8.0 release, however I believe
we are overdue for
3.7.4 and it’s now best to proceed with it on its own.

I’ve seen requests for this release from Kyle Boyer in discord
(https://discord.com/channels/838910279550238720/1377747792344121404/1377747792344121404)
and from Daniel Weber in GitHub
(https://github.com/apache/tinkerpop/pull/2992#issuecomment-3028646798)

The full list of accumulated changes can be found in the changelog
(https://github.com/apache/tinkerpop/blob/3.7-dev/CHANGELOG.asciidoc).

I would like to see the following few JIRAs hammered out before the release,
but I don’t think any of
them need a significant amount of time.

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TINKERPOP-3141
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TINKERPOP-3142
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TINKERPOP-3138
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TINKERPOP-3160
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TINKERPOP-3161

I would like to aim to initiate code freeze on 3.7-dev on July 25 if there are
no objections. Please
let me know any thoughts you have on this release timeline as well as if there
are any outstanding
issues you are working on which you would like included in the release.

One final note, I don’t think 3.8.0 is that far away at this point. If we
proceed as proposed here, we can discuss once
3.8.0 is ready if it should launch on its own or be accompanied by a small
3.7.5 release.

Thanks,
Cole
