Hi all,

Please see the July quarterly report draft below, and let me know if there’s
anything missing or needs updating.

Thanks!

## Description:
Apache TinkerPop is a graph computing framework for both graph databases
(OLTP) and graph analytic systems (OLAP).

## Project Status:
The project is ongoing with high activities this past quarter. There are no
issues requiring board attention.

## Membership Data:
Community changes, past quarter:
- No new PMC members. Last addition was Cole Greer on 2025-06-02.
- No new committers. Last addition was Andrea Child on 2025-08-11.

## Project Activity:
The project is preparing for it's next set of releases which are likely
to come out later this month. This will include TinkerPop 3.7.7 and 3.8.2,
which will be maintenance releases primarily containing bug fixes and
security non-breaking improvements, in addition to TinkerPop 4.0.0-beta.3
which marks a significant milestone on the path towards TinkerPop 4.

While past TP4 betas were focused on the mechanics of shifting to a pure
HTTP protocol, beta.3 builds on that foundation to deliver features which
expand the capabilities of the project. There are several notable additions.
A new declarative pattern-matching capability aligns Gremlin with the ISO
GQL standard [1]. An overhaul to how many Gremlin steps handle dynamic
arguments addresses what has arguably been the most frustrating limitation
of the language for years. Finally, all drivers see performance improvements
through the introduction of response streaming.

We have seen a sharp increase in community activity this quarter, with
PR submissions rising roughly 50% above our historical average. This has been
driven both by increased committer activity and by external community
submissions, with many notable TinkerPop 4 features driven in full or in part
by external contributors.

### Releases:
3.7.6 was released on 2026-04-01.
3.8.1 was released on 2026-04-01.
4.0.0-beta.2 was released on 2026-04-01.

## Community Health:
The TinkerPop community maintains strong engagement with consistent
contributions from core committers and active participation from users on the
dev list and in our Discord server.

The community continues to hold regular TinkerPop Gathering meetings [2], open
to anyone who wishes to join, to enhance collaboration and provide real-time
discussion opportunities. Meeting notes are recorded on the dev list, with
recent topics including OLAP Modernization, the expansion of our data model to
include multiple labels, the development and potential TinkerPop applicability
of
Hydra [3], and the open sourcing of Aerospike Graph Service [4].

This quarter featured three live events on Twitch [5]. It began with a
Contributorcast breaking down the releases from last April, followed by two
TinkerPop Wide presentations: one on Gremlinq [6], and another on building
text-enriched property graphs. All three recordings are available on our YouTube
channel [7]:

* TinkerPop Contributorcast: Breaking down TinkerPop 3.7.6, 3.8.1, and
4.0.0-beta.2 [8]
Presenters: Yang Xia, Ken Hu, Cole Greer
* TinkerPop Wide: Every Hop, Strongly Typed - Gremlinq in Depth [9]
  Presenters: Daniel Weber, Stephen Mallette
* TinkerPop Wide: Beyond Topology - Building and Querying Text-Enriched
Property Graphs [10]
  Presenters: Amir Hosseini, Stephen Mallette
