TinkerTransaction.doRollback checks vertexIndex before calling 
edgeIndex.rollback(). The NPE skips the rest of the cleanup, so the thread's 
transaction is never closed. Under Gremlin Server this leaves a worker thread 
whose later requests never get a response.
