I've filed an issue with jitpack: https://github.com/jitpack/jitpack.io/issues/67
I also visited their chat room https://gitter.im/jitpack-io# and someone there said they are looking into the issue now. If anyone has been able to build a tinkerpop app using jitpack.io for their maven repository I'd love to hear how they did it.
