    Not sure if you did this already but, when you deprecate you should always 
remember to add a JIRA ticket to remove the deprecation in the future. Here's 
an example:
    
    https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/TINKERPOP-1094
    
    Note the "breaking" and "deprecation" tags.  I don't think there's many 
folks using the performance tests, but probably makes sense to do what you did 
there.  No sense breaking provider's implementations over this change.
