ugh....we could just make a complete copy and that has been on the table. if we
did that then our {{bin/publish-docs.sh}} automation should be smart enough to
deal with that automatically. i also don't think we would publish SNAPSHOT docs
(i.e. which SNAPSHOT - 3.1.3-SNAPSHOT or 3.2.1-SNAPSHOT) - it would be the most
current version that is active (so likely 3.2.0-incubating). so i guess
something would have to tell {{publish-docs.sh}} what is "latest" somehow. it
also kinda stinks to double copy everything up to the server - there's probably
a way to execute the right SVN commands to do a server side copy of some sort -
i dunno how that works under apache infrastructure though.

this issue is not only to figure out "/latest" but also to fix the SEO problem
we have with old versions of the docs showing up high in search results. that's
as important than the "/latest" issue. we're not sure how to work that into our
documentation automation process. i think there were some proposals on that
thread referenced in the description, but i don't think anyone got down on how
to execute those ideas.

anyway - i assume that's why no one feels like putting hustle on this.

> It would be good to have {{/latest}} URLs for doc and bins. As well as
> getting old docs dereferenced from search engins
