No need for co/commit. svn propset will convert current line endings to the virtual one I suppose, and then each client depending on the platform will have correct EOL. tc5.5.x branch has that resolved, and the svn:eol-style is set correctly for all source/resource non-binary files. Even all image types have svn:mime-type:application/octet-stream although they should have svn:mime-type:image/gif, etc...
