Tomcat will response with a response: "HTTP/1.1 200<CR><LF>" According to RFC 7230 section 3.1.2 (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7230#section-3.1.2) , the status line should be of the form: status-line = HTTP-version SP status-code SP reason-phrase CRLF where reason-phrase = *( HTAB / SP / VCHAR / obs-text ) There must be a space after the status code even if the reason-phrase is empty.
