If the compiler compliance level is set to Java 7 or below, Java can't/doesn't correctly infer the types so it assumes Object which triggers the issues like the one above.

The fix is probably to configure Gump to use the latest EasyMock 3.x for 7.0.x and 8.5.x and continue to build EasyMock HEAD for use with 9.0.x.

I'll try and get to that tomorrow but I may not have time.
