The way I see things you'll have plenty of time to participate :-)

I'm currently preparing a call for comments on the pilot, will be out
this week. I've got a lot of positive feedback already (and some
criticism as well) so I'm optimistic about the overall outcome, but
let's wait for the final result.

If the participants of the pilot call it a success, we'll start the next
phase - create all the bits and pieces of infrastructure necessary for
the real thing. I will not urge the participants of the pilot to go back
to Subversion during that time :-), they will still be able to do
Mercurial CWSs and I hope they make use of it because I'll need their
help in testing the infrastructure setup. In this phase we'll also be
able to expand the number of hg hosted mercurials and involve more
developers if they choose to participate.

No news is usually good news :-). Currently there are 16 hg hosted CWS
open and one has been integrated. I had hoped that more CWSs are done
and integrated at this time, but many of the mentioned CWS are still
stuck in the QA cycle.

We've got a *lot* of things still to do. EIS changes are needed, web
servers need to be setup, server side clones need to be implemented,
Bonsai, OpenGrok, build bots, tinderboxes etc. We'll be able to use some
of the pilot experimental infrastructure for the real thing but there
are many details still to be ironed out. Some stuff is optional and just
nice to have, but some things are really essential.
