Currently the VIO and VConnection interfaces use 32-bit sizes. These should be
64-bit
to enable support for objects > 2GB. Given that these are interfaces, it
would be nice to
get these changes in for 2.0 so that when the support is added the interfaces
don't
have to change.
There is a separate bug for the API.
