Hi Sönke,

thanks for this summary - at least I appreciate it :)

Would it be useful to put these 8 points into Jira? It would allow us to get in
a more target oriented discussion.
Otherwise I see the risk that we talk in this mail thread about 3 or 4 of these
points in parallel, while the others sink in oblivion.

What do you think?

Thanks
Oli

Betreff: Next steps?

Hey everybody,

I was talking to Oli the other day and he expressed a certain confusion about
how the podling will proceed from here and how he can help - which is of course
not a good thing and I think we should work on correcting that!

I know that I personally have a vision of where I'd like to see this project
going and a very rough idea of the general way of getting there, but that is
just me of course and doesn't help anybody checking out the project for the
first time or wanting to help.

From my point of view the immediate next steps from a content perspective would
be:
1. Get the repo structure agreed and committed 2. Commit an initial version of
Chris' slide builder code 3. Commit some donated materials 4. Start converting
donated materials (stay in close contact while doing so to avoid heading down
potential dead ends) 5. I believe that once we actually start working with
materials we will gain a far better understanding of what we need out of our
tooling and automatically drive new work

On the organizational side of things:
1. Get an initial version of the homepage up 2. Create a contributors guide
that gives concrete steps on how one can help 3. Create a "Vision" page that
explains the target that we are moving towards - I think we are mostly in
agreement, but for new people that just subscribed to the list it is not easy
to find out, what we are trying to achieve.

Any thoughts?

Best regards,
Sönke
